About the Role

As a Jumbo Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe operation of the Jumbo, monitoring to ensure the safety of the workers in the face area and ensuring that the face remains on design path whilst reporting or rectifying any issues.

• Carry out bolt and bore drilling patterns, identify and rectify misfires, and relocate the Jumbo as required.
• Read and follow plans and instructions, assess ground conditions, and install additional ground support as required.
• Assist and provide instruction to crew members, particularly offsiders, in the safe and effective execution of drill and blast operations.
• Shut down and lock out the Jumbo when required for repairs, maintenance, and other work, in accordance with site safety procedures.
• Provide Shift Supervisors with drilling operation details and equipment faults for rectification, while ensuring compliance with all relevant company and client procedures.

About You

• Previous experience operating underground Jumbos in development headings.
  
• Ability tointerpret mine plans, drill patterns, development designs and operational instructions.
  
• Understanding of underground ground conditions, geological structures and potential ground instability.
  
• Strong problem-solvingskills and the ability to respond appropriately to changing operational conditions.
  
• Must have a valid manual drivers license
